No Place Like Home

May 15, 2012

Instead of the bustle of midtown Manhattan traffic, the first thing we heard as the sun peeked over the horizon this morning was the twitter of birds just outside our window. Instead of an endless row of skyscrapers, we were greeted on our morning commute by the Batman Building and the Pinnacle tower.

Wait a sec, did we really just go to New York City and perform at Carnegie Hall?

Yep, it really happened, and it was an incredible experience. The orchestra sounded amazing closing out the second annual Spring For Music Festival, and the audience’s reaction at the end of the night was just as remarkable. (Too see photos and videos from the tour, visit the Inside the Nashville Symphony  and Our Road To Carnegie You Tube Playlist and the Instagram Photo Feed.)

Now we’re back, and we couldn’t be happier. New York City is exciting, but Nashville’s home. We’ve got concerts to perform for the people who’ve been there all along for us, starting with tonight’s performance at Shelbyville’s Calsonic Arena. (You could call it the final stop on our East Coast tour.)

It has been an incredible journey, with a brilliant soundtrack. Thanks to all of our musicians. Thanks to all of the Nashville Symphony staffers who got this unbelievably complex show on the road. Thanks to the Spring For Music Festival for inviting us to perform.

But thanks, most of all, to you, the city of Nashville and the people of Middle Tennessee. We’re honored to have represented you in New York. We hope we made you proud.

Bravo! Listen Again

Listen again.. hear the interviews.. enjoy.
